Faith, aka Obie-Won-Kanobie, models her new hooded towel.
I impulsively decided to take up sewing as a hobby. I'm a newbie, a novice, as unskilled and green as possible. I think the machine I bought might be too much for me to handle, but it was a great deal. It has way more stitches than any human being could possibly need, however. And if I decide to learn one new stitch per day, it would take me over 6 months. Of course, Jason thought it was too expensive. I told him to drive around on his brand-new motorcycle and think about whether or not I was worth the money. I brought the machine home that very day...
And matching bib (okay, maybe it's more of a "full-body apron"), complete with pocket for dropped food.
Poor Faith has been my muse, and I have been busy sewing things for her. As you can see, (and the Walker boys can attest) I am quite fond of frogs. Some things I have learned:
1. Only I could possibly sew right and wrong sides of the fabric together without noticing...
2. Sewing a straight seam should be a medal-winning sport in the Olympics...
3. Keep "Sewing Machine Repair Guy"'s number on speed-dial. (I've already called him twice!)
4. Yelling expletives at the machine does NOT make it stitch straighter, neater, or easier.

Looks great to me! Are you sure you didn't already know how to sew??
Don't worry your not the only one to do the four things listed....infact, other then when Greg's deployed, I only cuss when I sew!!
Keep practicing!

Way to dive right in Karen!!! Believe me, you are only one of many many women who've sewn a right side to a wrong side -- heck I've done it more than once in a single project. Have you invested in a good seam ripper? this simple inexpensive tool can be your very best friend.
Ha -- the straight seams comment made me LOL -- having matching thread & fabric is my saving grace in that area.
Just remember, you eat an elephant one bit at a time.
Keep the pictures coming.

Cute! I think you did a great job for your first time out. You have done a lot more than I think I could. I like the frogs they are cute. Too bad we didn't have a picture of the "frog" episode we encountered..... LOL
